Buying Manager - Retail
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic buying plans to maximize profitability and align with brand objectives, sourcing innovative products that resonate with target demographics. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and payment conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal cost of goods and maintain healthy margins. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer buying patterns to identify new product opportunities and anticipate future demand. Manage inventory levels effectively, balancing stock availability with minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence risks. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in retail buying, with a proven track record in a specific product category (e.g., apparel, electronics, home goods). Demonstrated expertise in retail buying software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market research, and financial reports.
