Senior Planning Engineer (Water Pipeline Projects)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Planning Engineer with proven expertise in large-scale water pipeline and distribution network projects. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress control, particularly within the UAE infrastructure sector. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for water pipeline and utility infrastructure projects using Primavera P6. Prepare baseline programs, recovery plans, look-ahead schedules, and resource histograms. Monitor project progress and performance, identify delays or deviations, and propose mitigation strategies. Coordinate closely with the engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to align timelines and deliverables. Evaluate subcontractor schedules and ensure integration into the master schedule. Lead progress review meetings and prepare weekly/monthly reports for internal and client submission. Analyze variations, assess impacts, and support the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims. Ensure schedule compliance with contractual requirements and client expectations. Maintain clear documentation and control of planning data throughout the project lifecycle. Participate in risk management and value engineering exercises. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 10 years of UAE experience in project planning, with a special focus on water pipeline and utility network projects. Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other project management software. Solid understanding of infrastructure construction workflows, sequencing, and interdependencies. Experience working with UAE authorities such as DEWA, ADDC, ADSSC, FEWA, etc., is a strong advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and delay analysis methodologies is preferred.
