Sr. Technical Engineer - Construction

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Technical & Engineering Management Review IFC drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure technical compliance. Coordinate with consultants and design teams to resolve technical issues and RFIs. Prepare and review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical proposals. Monitor construction activities to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and standards. Lead technical coordination meetings with subcontractors and consultants. Identify design discrepancies and propose practical engineering solutions. Ensure proper implementation of value engineering initiatives where applicable. Project Coordination Coordinate with planning, procurement, QA/QC, and site execution teams. Support project managers in achieving project milestones and deliverables. Monitor site progress and provide technical guidance to construction teams. Assist in resource planning and sequencing of activities. Coordinate authority approvals and inspections when required. Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, international standards, and company procedures. Monitor QA/QC implementation and ensure closure of NCRs and technical observations. Ensure all engineering documentation is maintained and updated. Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities. Commercial & Reporting Support Assist in technical evaluations of subcontractor variations and claims. Review BOQs and support quantity verification when required. Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and engineering status reports. Ensure engineering activities comply with project HSE requirements. Desired Candidate Profile Qualification & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Experience Requirements Minimum 8–10 years of experience with a recognized main contractor. Strong experience in high-rise, mid-rise and low rise Buildings including commercial and residential GCC/UAE project experience preferred. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and engineering standards. Proficiency in: AutoCAD Revit/BIM Primavera P6 MS Office Suite Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications. Familiarity with authority regulations and approval procedures. Soft Skills Strong leadership and coordination abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and analytical thinking. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Team-oriented with strong organizational skills.
