HSE Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced HSE Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on a high profile new VVIP Palace project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a HSE Engineer working on high profile projects in the UAE and must have worked for recognised Main Contracting Companies in the capacity of HSE Engineer previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is hiring on a temporary to permanent basis as an initial 6 month contract position, outsourced through J10 Consulting, with the option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties. Key Responsibilities: HSE Management & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and systems in line with UAE laws and international standards. Ensure compliance with Municipality and authority requirements. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Prepare and submit HSE documentation, reports, and permits required by authorities. Site Safety & Operations: Monitor daily site activities to ensure safe work practices are followed. Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive measures. Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for staff and subcontractors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and implement corrective actions. Authority & Client Coordination: Liaise with government authorities during inspections and audits. Support management during authority visits and compliance reviews. Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors on HSE-related matters. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain HSE records including incident logs, training records, permits, and inspections. Prepare weekly and monthly HSE reports for management. Ensure proper implementation of method statements, risk assessments (RA), and HSE plans. Desired Candidate Profile HSE Engineer Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field. Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in the UAE, at least 2 in recognised main contracting companies Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws, regulations, and authority requirements. Experience dealing with local Municipality and other local authorities. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (mandatory). OSHAD preferred Excellent communication and reporting skills.
