Head of IT Engineering

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities A leading international organization is looking for a Head of IT Engineering to lead its global technology engineering function. The role covers software development, AI solutions, data engineering, enterprise architecture, systems integration, and technical governance. The selected candidate will define engineering standards, manage internal and external teams, oversee the software development lifecycle, and ensure technology solutions are aligned with global architecture, security, and infrastructure strategies. Key Responsibilities Lead internal and external software development teams Manage the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, support, and maintenance Oversee the development of business applications, digital products, and AI-enabled solutions Define development standards, methodologies, and engineering practices Lead the design and delivery of AI-based business solutions Evaluate emerging technologies and identify practical business use cases Define and manage enterprise data architecture Lead the development of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms Define enterprise architecture standards and principles Govern integration approaches, APIs, middleware, and data exchange mechanisms Chair architecture review processes and governance forums Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams Monitor technical debt and architecture compliance Manage external service providers, consulting partners, and software vendors Oversee contracts, budgets, resource planning, and performance indicators Lead, coach, and develop global engineering and architecture teams Required Skills Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology Minimum 5 years of experience leading global technology teams Strong experience managing software development organizations and distributed engineering teams Solid background in enterprise architecture, systems integration, and data platforms Experience managing third-party technology partners and vendors Experience managing technology budgets and contracts Strong knowledge of SDLC, DevOps practices, and cloud-native architectures Experience with API and integration platforms Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills Ability to balance innovation with governance and standardization Technical Knowledge Experience with several of the following: Microsoft Azure Microsoft Fabric Snowflake SAP Data Warehousing and Data Lake architectures API and Integration platforms Enterprise Architecture practices SDLC DevOps tools and practices Cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures Nice to Have Experience with AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Agentic AI solutions Experience in commodity trading, agriculture, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or similar industries Experience working in multinational organizations with globally distributed operations Desired Candidate Profile Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology Minimum 5 years of experience leading global technology teams Strong experience managing software development organizations and distributed engineering teams Solid background in enterprise architecture, systems integration, and data platforms Experience managing third-party technology partners and vendors Experience managing technology budgets and contracts Strong knowledge of SDLC, DevOps practices, and cloud-native architectures Experience with API and integration platforms Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills Ability to balance innovation with governance and standardization Technical Knowledge Experience with several of the following: Microsoft Azure Microsoft Fabric Snowflake SAP Data Warehousing and Data Lake architectures API and Integration platforms Enterprise Architecture practices SDLC DevOps tools and practices Cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures Experience with AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Agentic AI solutions Experience in commodity trading, agriculture, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or similar industries Experience working in multinational organizations with globally distributed operations Company Industry RecruitmentPlacement FirmExecutive Search Department / Functional Area Engineering Keywords Head Of IT Engineering Get real-time job updates only on our App
