Assistant GM – Finance & Accounts (Trade Finance, Treasury & Commodity

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities About the Role TASA Gulf Industry LLC is seeking a highly experienced and commercially strong Assistant General Manager – Finance to lead the Group's finance, treasury, and trade finance operations. The role is based in Dubai, UAE, and reports directly to the CEO/MD. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in Letters of Credit (LCs), commodity trading finance, and copper/metal hedging, combined with strong command of daily financial operations, banking coordination, and working capital management within a GCC environment. Key Responsibilities Trade Finance & Letter of Credit (LC) Operations Manage end-to-end LC operations: Sight & Usance LC, Back-to-Back LC, Transferable LC, and Standby LC (SBLC) Handle LC issuance, amendments, negotiations, discrepancies, and settlements with banks Ensure strict compliance with UCP 600, SWIFT standards, and international trade finance rules Coordinate with banks, suppliers, and customers for smooth execution of trade transactions Oversee bank guarantees, documentary collections, and trade finance instruments Commodity Trading Finance Manage commodity price risk and hedging strategies, especially in copper and other metals Execute hedging strategies aligned with company requirements and market conditions Monitor global commodity markets and pricing trends to protect margins Work closely with trading and procurement teams to align financial risk strategies Ensure proper financial structuring of import/export metal trading transactions Liaise daily with commodity brokers Treasury, Banking & Working Capital Management Oversee daily treasury operations, cash flow, and liquidity management Manage multi-currency exposures and funding requirements Maintain strong relationships with UAE and GCC banks Negotiate trade finance limits, working capital facilities, and credit lines Optimize receivables, payables, and inventory cycles Daily Finance & Operational Control Supervise day-to-day accounting and finance operations Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping, reconciliations, MIS reporting, and month-end closing Monitor budgets, expenses, and cost controls across business units Enforce financial discipline across trading and operational teams Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare accurate financial statements and MIS reports Maintain compliance with IFRS standards and GCC regulatory requirements Support internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness at all times Banking & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, trade finance institutions, and financial partners Structure and negotiate financing solutions for trading operations Coordinate with auditors, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders Desired Candidate Profile Candidate Requirements 18+ years of overall finance experience Minimum 8+ years of GCC experience (mandatory) Strong hands-on expertise in LC operations, commodity trading finance (metals preferred), copper/metal hedging, banking, treasury, and daily finance operations Experience in trading, manufacturing, or commodity-based companies strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field Professional qualification (CA / ACCA / CMA preferred) Preferred Industry Background Metal & Commodity Trading Manufacturing & Industrial Groups Trading Companies in GCC Supply Chain & Import/Export Businesses Employment Type Full Time Company Industry Other Department / Functional Area Other Keywords Letter Of Credit Trade Finance Treasury Management Commodity Hedging Copper Hedging Working Capital Management Banking Relationships Cash Flow Management MIS Reporting IFRS UCP 600 Back-to-Back LC Usance LC FX Risk Management Financial Reporting Get real-time job updates only on our App
