Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Conduct thorough hazard assessments and risk analyses to proactively identify potential workplace dangers, ensuring a safe environment. Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to specific operational needs and regulatory compliance. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Provide expert safety training and education to employees at all levels, fostering a culture of safety awareness and proactive behaviour. Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards, minimizing legal risks. Manage and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for audits and reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and management, to integrate safety into project planning and execution. Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging safety technologies, and regulatory changes, continuously improving safety protocols. Lead and participate in safety committees, promoting employee involvement and ownership of safety initiatives. Assist project management team in developing and executing site-specific safety programs and activities Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project level Conduct the project’s leading and trailing indicator data/document collection and trend analyses Conduct or assist with major incident analysis Record, monitor, and analyse Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements Review Safety Submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractors. Check the site security, fire, First Aid and welfare facilities and ensure that all procedures appropriate to the Works are provided and properly maintained. Carry out and record regular site safety inspections. Assist with onsite injury management and case management Desired Candidate Profile Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. Holds relevant certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHST, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and expertise. Has a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in safety roles, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industry. Demonstrates a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards; international safety standards experience is a plus.
