Senior Developer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The Senior Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise applications that enhance business operations across Sharjah Education Academy. The role requires a strong combination of software development expertise, business analysis, systems integration, and stakeholder engagement to deliver innovative and scalable technology solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments, vendors, and technology partners to automate processes, improve operational efficiency, and support critical institutional systems. Key Responsibilities: Application Development & Solution Delivery Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise applications and digital solutions that support the Academy s strategic and operational objectives. Lead the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support. Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience. Enterprise Systems & Integration Manage, support, and continuously improve institutional applications, including ERP, LMS, SIS, HR, Finance, and other business-critical systems. Design, develop, and maintain system integrations, APIs, and data exchange mechanisms between internal and external platforms. Contribute to solution architecture decisions, ensuring interoperability, scalability, security, and long-term sustainability. Business Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with departments to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital transformation. Work closely with stakeholders across the Academy, vendors, and technology partners to deliver effective technology solutions. Provide expert advice, progress updates, and strategic recommendations to support organizational objectives. Infrastructure, Performance & Support Support and monitor cloud-based and on-premises application environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, security, and availability. Conduct capacity planning, utilization monitoring, and performance optimization activities to support business continuity and growth. Provide advanced technical support for enterprise applications and related services. Quality Assurance & Documentation Conduct testing, debugging, quality assurance, and deployment activities to ensure solutions meet functional, technical, security, and performance requirements. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical, operational, and user documentation. Deliver user training, knowledge transfer, and guidance to ensure effective adoption and utilization of technology solutions. Project Management & Vendor Coordination Participate in and lead technology projects, including effort estimation, planning, implementation, risk management, and reporting. Lead technical evaluations and prepare scopes of work, specifications, and procurement documentation for software solutions and technology services. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues, manage service delivery, and ensure contractual obligations are met. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance institutional capabilities and service delivery. Mentor and support technical team members by promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development. Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager, Director, or the Academy in support of operational and strategic requirements. Qualifications & Experience: Essential Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in software development and enterprise applications. Proven experience in full-stack application development. Experience working with enterprise systems and system integrations. Strong understanding of software architecture, databases, APIs, and cloud technologies. Preferred Experience within higher education, government, or large enterprise environments. Professional certifications in Software Development, Cloud Technologies, Agile, or Project Management. Experience with ERP, SIS, LMS, and enterprise business applications. Competencies: Full Stack Development. Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). API Development & Integration. SQL & Database Management. Cloud Technologies (Azure, AWS, or equivalent). Application Security Best Practices. DevOps & CI/CD Concepts. Agile & Scrum Methodologies. System Analysis & Solution Architecture.
