Kubernetes Administrator
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities 1. Cluster Management Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-premises or cloud-based). Perform upgrades, patching, and version management of clusters. Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and scaling strategies. 2. Workload & Application Management Deploy, manage, and monitor applications using Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, or Kustomize. Manage resource allocation, scaling, and lifecycle of pods, deployments, and services. Troubleshoot application and cluster issues to maintain performance and uptime. 3. Networking & Security Configure networking components (Ingress, Load Balancers, NetworkPolicies). Implement and manage RBAC, Secrets, and security policies. Monitor and enforce cluster security best practices and compliance standards. 4. Monitoring & Optimization Set up observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki). Monitor cluster performance, resource usage, and health. Optimize cluster resources for cost, efficiency, and reliability. 5. DevOps & CI/CD Integration Integrate Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Flux). Automate repetitive tasks via scripts (Bash, Python) or IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible). 6. Documentation & Collaboration Document architecture, deployment processes, and operational procedures. Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and security teams to support production workloads. Desired Candidate Profile 1. Technical Requirements 4 to 8 years of experience in Kubernetes administration or DevOps roles. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and containerization (Docker). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, IaC tools, and GitOps practices. Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS) are highly preferred. Understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability tools. Experience with automation, scripting, and troubleshooting production systems. 2. Soft Skills Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to guide teams and mentor junior engineers. Attention to detail, documentation, and adherence to best practices. 3. Optional but Valuable Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd). Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards. Cloud-native architecture and microservices understanding.
