Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Role Overview: The Assistant Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day workshop operations to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and timely job completion. The role involves leading and supervising technical teams, providing expert technical guidance, maintaining operational and safety standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position plays a key role in driving productivity, optimizing workshop performance, and fostering a disciplined, high-performance work environment. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily workshop operations, including job allocation, workflow planning, and turnaround timelines. Lead, train, supervise, and motivate workshop staff including technicians, foremen, and service advisors. Provide technical guidance for complex diagnostics and repair cases, ensuring compliance with OEM standards and safety regulations. Review job cards, repair estimates, parts requirements, labour hours, and billing accuracy. Coordinate with parts, procurement, and operations teams to prevent delays and ensure smooth job progression. Monitor and improve workshop KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, first-time fix rate, and workshop utilization. Maintain workshop assets, tools, and diagnostic equipment, ensuring proper usage, calibration, and upkeep. Engage with customers for repair approvals, technical explanations, and professional resolution of concerns. Ensure accurate documentation, service records, and operational reports are maintained for management review. Enforce workshop safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and compliance with UAE labour laws and HSE requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, efficiency, and team performance. Desired Candidate Profile Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in automotive workshop operations, with 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong technical understanding of automotive systems and modern diagnostic procedures. Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff. Well-organized, confident, and capable of managing multiple jobs simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-driven approach. Effective communication skills with customer handling experience. Familiarity with workshop management systems and advanced diagnostic tools is an advantage. Previous experience in the UAE automotive industry is preferred (light vehicles, heavy vehicles, or fleet services). UAE driving license is an added advantage.
