Cost Controller / Estimator (Mechanical)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Estimation Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical works, including piping, structural, equipment installation, fabrication, maintenance, and shutdown projects. Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work. Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare BOQs. Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Prepare manpower, equipment, material, and subcontract cost calculations. Support tender submissions and commercial proposals. Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimation stage. Cost Control Develop project budgets and cost control systems. Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets. Track labor, material, equipment, and subcontract costs. Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate with Project Managers, Procurement, Finance, and Site Teams. Maintain cost records and project documentation. Support monthly project reviews and management reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additional certification in Cost Engineering, Estimation, or Project Management is preferred. Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and estimation software. Desired Candidate Profile Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator and/or Cost Controller. Mandatory experience with international EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial Construction, or Fabrication companies. Experience in Middle East projects is preferred. Strong understanding of mechanical construction, piping, steel structures, tanks, pressure vessels, and maintenance activities. Experience in tendering, budgeting, cost monitoring, and project reporting. Required Skills Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent knowledge of cost estimation methodologies. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Advanced MS Excel skills. Excellent communication and reporting abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet tender/project deadlines. Preferred Industry Experience Candidates must have worked with internationally recognized companies such as: Saudi Aramco contractors SAMSUNG E&A Petrofac Technip Energies Saipem McDermott Kent Wood Similar international EPC, fabrication, or industrial contracting companies. Immediate joiners and candidates currently available in GCC will be preferred.
