Equipment Controller
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Purpose The Equipment Controller is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and controlling the allocation, utilization, movement, maintenance, and documentation of construction equipment and machinery to ensure efficient project operations and optimum asset utilization. Key Responsibilities Monitor daily deployment and utilization of construction equipment across project sites. Coordinate equipment requests, transfers, mobilization, and demobilization activities. Maintain accurate records of equipment location, status, utilization, and operating hours. Track equipment availability and ensure timely allocation to projects. Coordinate with site teams, workshop personnel, and transport providers regarding equipment movements. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly equipment utilization reports. Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime. Verify equipment inspection records, service reports, and certification documents. Ensure all plant and equipment comply with company HSE requirements and regulatory standards. Track fuel consumption and equipment operating costs. Investigate equipment shortages, misuse, damages, or discrepancies. Maintain equipment registers, asset databases, and documentation. Support inventory control of attachments, tools, and equipment accessories. Desired Candidate Profile Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in equipment control, fleet management, or plant operations within the construction industry. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar) and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of construction equipment including excavators, loaders, cranes, bulldozers, generators, compressors, and heavy vehicles. Skills & Competencies Strong planning and coordination skills. Equipment utilization and fleet management knowledge. Excellent record-keeping and reporting abilities. Data analysis and problem-solving skills. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
