Head of Projects (Oil & Gas / Power Sector)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the complete project lifecycle from initiation through commissioning and handover. Oversee EPC, construction, maintenance, shutdown, turnaround, brownfield, and greenfield projects within Oil & Gas and Power sectors. Develop project execution plans, schedules, resource allocation plans, and budgets. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements. Monitor project performance, progress, and financial status, implementing corrective actions when necessary. Manage project risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies. Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, Quality, HSE, and Commercial teams. Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders. Lead project review meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management. Ensure compliance with international standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and profitability. Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and project teams. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related discipline). Master's Degree or MBA will be an added advantage. PMP or equivalent Project Management certification preferred. Desired Candidate Profile Experience Requirements Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience in Project Management within the Oil & Gas and/or Power sectors. Experience managing EPC, Industrial Construction, Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Refinery, Petrochemical, or Energy projects. Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, cost control, contract management, procurement, and project execution. Experience handling multiple large-scale projects simultaneously. GCC/Middle East experience is highly preferred. Preferred International Company Experience Candidates with experience in internationally recognized companies such as: Saudi Aramco projects and contractors SAMSUNG E&A Petrofac Technip Energies Saipem McDermott Wood Fluor Bechtel Similar international EPC, Oil & Gas, Power, or Industrial Construction organizations. Required Skills Strong leadership and people management skills. Strategic project planning and execution. Budgeting, forecasting, and cost control expertise. Contract administration and commercial awareness. Risk management and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in project management software and MS Office applications. Preferred Candidate Profile A dynamic project leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering major Oil & Gas and Power projects, capable of managing multidisciplinary teams, driving project profitability, and maintaining strong client relationships.
