Lead Planning Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 in accordance with project and contractual requirements. Prepare baseline schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and resource-loaded plans for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances, and recommend corrective and recovery actions to achieve project milestones. Perform critical path analysis, schedule forecasting, and earned value analysis to support effective project decision-making. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of project activities. Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, look-ahead schedules, and management presentations. Conduct delay analysis and support Extension of Time (EOT) claims by assessing schedule impacts and maintaining accurate planning records. Monitor resource utilization, manpower histograms, and productivity trends, recommending optimization measures where necessary. Identify planning and scheduling risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support overall project risk management initiatives. Lead planning meetings with internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project objectives and contractual milestones. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering sector. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent are highly desirable. Proven experience with project management software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is essential.
