Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Main Duties & Responsibilities Supervise and manage all mechanical works at project sites including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire fighting systems. Review and coordinate: o Mechanical shop drawings o Material submittals o Technical submittals o Method statements o Coordination drawings Coordinate with: o Project managers o Consultants o MEP teams o Civil and fit-out teams o Suppliers and subcontractors Ensure proper installation and execution of: o HVAC systems o Ventilation systems o Plumbing systems o Drainage systems o Fire fighting systems o Chilled water systems Conduct site inspections and ensure works comply with: o Dubai Municipality regulations o Civil Defense requirements o Project specifications o Health & Safety standards Monitor project progress and ensure mechanical works are completed according to approved schedules. Prepare and review: o RFIs o Inspection requests o Testing & commissioning reports o As-built drawings o Progress reports Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with consultants and authorities. Verify material quantities, deliveries, and site requirements. Assist procurement team with technical evaluations and material approvals. Identify technical issues and provide engineering solutions during project execution. Attend project meetings and provide updates on mechanical work progress. Ensure quality control procedures and approved method statements are properly followed on site. Support project handover and close-out documentation processes. Skills & Requirements Strong knowledge of: o HVAC systems o Plumbing systems o Fire fighting systems o Mechanical construction methods Main Duties & Responsibilities Mechanical design, relevant calculations and site supervision of services like HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Drainage, Water supply, irrigation etc. Preparation of detailed design layouts, schematics, sections and coordination drawings. Supervision of the MEP draughtsman and make necessary review, correction and guidelines with respect to company standards. Liaison with authorities, lead necessary submissions and approvals from relevant authorities. Reviewing, approval/commenting on shop drawings, coordination drawings, method of statements and material submittals. Teaming up with other team members like site supervisors/foreman and inspectors to accomplish the target in agreed timelines including subcontracting works. Discussing and solving complexities with client representatives, sub consultants, manufacturing departments, sub-contractors and suppliers. Developing a project specification along collaboration with different disciplines, often including those from other engineering disciplines either in-house/contractors or client side. Traveling to the various sites to complete physical inspections and site surveys (if required). Prepare and maintain project documents per agreed deliverables like correspondence, minutes of meeting, notes etc. Allocation and distribution and follow up of task within the team, checking of works produced. Advice on cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput. Development of process flow and procedure for MEP department using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills. Attend or acquire necessary technical trainings pertaining to MEP/Revit Modeling, get acquainted with respect to modern practices and master on implementing those according to the company requirements. Support department in technical interviews while upgrading mechanical engineering department according to new resource requirements as may arise.. As per operational requirement Employee may be deployed in any of the Emirates and may be assigned to different department if and when required. Desired Candidate Profile Good understanding of: o MEP coordination o Construction and fit-out projects o UAE authority regulations Proficient in: o AutoCAD o MS Office Ability to read and interpret: o Mechanical drawings o MEP drawings o Technical specifications Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum ___ years of UAE experience in construction and fit-out projects. Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, or high-rise projects is preferred. Knowledge of Dubai Municipality and Civil Defense requirements is preferred. UAE Driving License is an advantage.
