Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Conduct thorough cost estimation for construction projects, ensuring accuracy by analyzing project plans and specifications. Develop and maintain project budgets, tracking expenses and forecasting future costs to minimize overruns. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for materials and labor, enabling effective procurement and resource allocation. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess design changes and their financial impacts on the project. Review subcontractor bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and identifying the best value. Generate and present financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting budget variances and cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet financial objectives. Assist in contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors, focusing on favorable terms and conditions. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify that work is being completed according to specifications and budget. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to provide innovative solutions for cost management. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation within the construction industry is preferred. Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent is a strong advantage, showcasing commitment to the field. Experience with construction project management software and cost estimation tools is highly desirable. Proficiency in accounting principles and financial management specific to construction projects is necessary. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights for cost optimization. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with diverse teams. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables. Physical ability to navigate construction sites and conduct field assessments as required.
