Senior General/Company Manager
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The general/company manager will serve as the principal executive responsible for the overall management, commercial performance, operational continuity, and organizational advancement of the construction division. The role provides direct oversight of all management functions within the division, including branch operations across the country, ensuring that corporate objectives, operational standards, and strategic priorities are consistently upheld throughout the organization. The position carries accountability for unifying the efforts of all departments, branches, projects, and support functions under a common direction while safeguarding profitability, client confidence, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth. Job Description: Strategic Leadership & Business Growth a. Develop and execute the company's strategic agenda in alignment with approved business objectives. b. Identify pathways for growth, diversification, and market penetration that contribute to long-term sustainability. c. Advance initiatives that strengthen organizational capability, competitive standing, and commercial relevance. d. Convert executive vision into actionable business plans and measurable achievements. e. Anticipate industry developments and position the company to capitalize on emerging opportunities. Operational Management a. Exercise overall managerial oversight of the Construction Division, including all branches, projects, facilities, and operational units established across the Emirates of the UAE. b. Direct and coordinate the activities of department managers, branch managers, project managers, and functional heads to ensure organizational alignment and operational consistency. c. Ensure corporate policies, management directives, operational procedures, and quality standards are uniformly implemented across all locations. d. Maintain visibility over the performance, resource requirements, and operational effectiveness of each branch and business unit. e. Facilitate collaboration between head office functions and branch operations to achieve seamless execution and efficient service delivery. f. Ensure projects, services, and contractual commitments are delivered in accordance with approved schedules, budgets, quality expectations, and client requirements. g. Promote the optimum deployment of manpower, equipment, facilities, and support resources throughout the division. h. Resolve operational constraints and organizational challenges that may affect productivity, profitability, or business continuity. Commercial Stewardship & Financial Sustainability a. Direct the preparation and administration of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. b. Monitor financial performance and ensure prudent utilization of company resources. c. Review financial indicators, cost structures, and operational expenditures to enhance profitability and value creation. d. Recommend measures that strengthen financial resilience and commercial performance. e. Support revenue generation initiatives through informed planning and resource optimization. Market Development & Stakeholder Engagement a. Cultivate relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, government entities, and strategic partners. b. Represent the company in negotiations, commercial discussions, industry forums, and high-level engagements. c. Pursue opportunities that expand the company's portfolio, client base, and geographic presence. d. Support tendering, proposal development, and contractual negotiations that advance business objectives. e. Safeguard client confidence through responsive engagement and dependable service delivery. Governance, Compliance & Corporate Safeguards a. Establish measures that protect the company against operational, financial, contractual, legal, and reputational exposures. b. Develop and maintain business continuity and organizational resilience frameworks. c. Ensure adherence to applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies. d. Maintain robust governance practices, internal controls, and accountability mechanisms. e. Promote ethical conduct and responsible decision-making throughout the organization. 6. Quality, Heath, Safety & Environmental Responsibility (QHSE) a. Promote a culture where quality, safety, and environmental responsibility form part of everyday operations. b. Monitor organizational performance against established standards and initiate corrective actions where necessary. c. Encourage preventive practices that minimize incidents, defects, and operational disruptions. d. Support sustainable practices that enhance organizational credibility and long-term performance. Organizational Capability & Leadership Development a. Provide direction and guidance to department managers and key personnel. b. Foster a professional environment characterized by accountability, collaboration, and continuous advancement. c. Oversee talent development, succession readiness, and workforce planning initiatives. d. Conduct performance reviews and support the development of future organizational leaders. e. Encourage innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement across all levels of the company. Business Intelligence & Performance Management a. Evaluate operational, financial, and organizational information to support sound business decisions. b. Establish and monitor meaningful performance indicators across all departments and business functions. c. Review dashboards, reports, and analytical findings to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring intervention. d. Present concise business assessments, strategic recommendations, and performance updates to the CEO. e. Maintain transparent communication channels that support informed decision-making and organizational alignment. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Professional certifications or advanced studies in business management, corporate leadership, project management, finance, or data analytics shall be considered advantageous. Experience: Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible leadership experience within the construction, industrial, infrastructure, or related sectors. Demonstrated experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams, operational functions, and commercial activities. Proven track record in managing large-scale projects, business growth initiatives, and organizational performance. Technical Proficiency : Strong understanding of construction operations, project execution methodologies, and commercial management principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business reporting tools. Familiarity with enterprise systems and project management platforms such as SAP, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent solutions is desirable. Ability to interpret financial, operational, and performance data for executive decision-making.
