Data Engineer - REMOTE
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer who will be responsible for designing, building, and managing scalable data pipelines and analytical data models that power People Analytics reporting, dashboards, and scorecards. The role ensures data reliability, quality, and performance, while supporting both AWS‑based platforms and future SAP data products. Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines for People Analytics using AWS (S3, APIs) and Apache Airflow. Develop and manage analytical data models and warehouse structures (e.g., Employee 360, facts, and dimensions) using strong SQL. Set up and maintain data quality guardrails to monitor pipeline health, data freshness, completeness, and accuracy. Proactively debug pipeline failures, resolve data issues, and identify performance and cost optimization opportunities. Partner with BI developers to design and implement the Semantic Layer, ensuring business‑ready, consistent metrics for reporting. Support backend integration for Power BI dashboards and analytics use cases. Use GitHub for version control, collaboration, and deployment best practices. Contribute to platform evolution initiatives, including re-designing the data warehouse in SAP Required Skills & Experience Strong experience in data engineering and data modelling for analytics platforms. Hands‑on experience with AWS, particularly S3, API integrations, and cloud‑based pipelines. Solid experience with Apache Airflow for orchestration. Excellent SQL skills, including complex transformations and optimisation. Experience setting up or managing a data warehouse/lakehouse. Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem‑solving skills. Experience using GitHub or similar version control tools. Good to Have Exposure to SAP data products such as SAP BDC, Datasphere, or SAP BO. Experience supporting People Analytics or HR analytics platforms. Familiarity with data governance and handling sensitive employee data. Desired Candidate Profile Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in Data Engineering Soft Skills: Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate and resolve complex project challenges. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Adaptability and openness to change in a fast-paced environment.
