Chief Accountant

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end accounting functions (GL, AP, AR) and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records across group entities. Handle month-end and year-end closing including journal entries, provisions, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations. Monitor billing, receivables ageing, collections, and credit control to ensure healthy cash flow. Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts including invoice certification, booking, reconciliation, and payment processing. Review project costing (CTC), budget vs actuals, and analyze project profitability and variances. Ensure revenue recognition in line with project progress and applicable accounting standards (IFRS). Prepare MIS reports, WIP reports, and detailed variance analysis using Excel / Power BI. Monitor group cash flow, working capital, fund allocation, and banking facilities for smooth operations. Ensure VAT and Corporate Tax compliance including filing, reconciliations, and audit coordination. Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations across group entities. Prepare consolidated financial statements and support group-level financial reporting and analysis. Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities for audits and financial reviews. Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance across the group. Supervise and lead the accounts team, ensuring timely reporting, accuracy, and operational efficiency. Desired Candidate Profile Qualified CA or ACCA with Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and 8–12 years of UAE experience in contracting/construction group environments. Strong expertise in group consolidation, IFRS reporting, VAT, corporate tax, MIS, and financial controls. Proven leadership experience in managing accounting teams and driving accuracy, compliance, and financial discipline across multiple entities.
