Planning Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Senior Planning Engineer with proven expertise in high-end luxury building construction projects including high-rise residential towers, luxury hotels, and commercial developments. The candidate must possess strong planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, delay analysis, and project control capabilities with hands-on experience in large-scale fast-track projects within GCC/UAE. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling complete planning functions from tender stage to project execution and closeout while coordinating with project management, consultants, subcontractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities Planning & Scheduling * Prepare detailed baseline programs using Primavera P6/MS Project for high-rise residential, hotel, and commercial projects. * Develop master programs, target programs, recovery programs, look-ahead schedules, and resource-loaded schedules. * Prepare construction sequencing considering structural, architectural, MEP, façade, and finishing activities. * Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedule and identify critical delays. * Conduct critical path analysis (CPA) and recommend mitigation/recovery actions. Project Controls & Monitoring * Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports with KPI tracking. * Monitor productivity, manpower, material, and equipment utilization. * Coordinate with site execution teams for progress verification and target achievement. * Maintain dashboards, S-curves, histograms, and earned value analysis reports. * Evaluate subcontractor progress and performance against approved schedules. Technical Coordination * Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, MEP, and construction teams to ensure proper planning integration. * Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, procurement schedules, and material lead times. * Identify interface issues and construction constraints affecting project timelines. * Support project management in strategic planning and execution methodology. Delay & Claims Management * Perform delay analysis, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and claims support documentation. * Maintain records of delays, variations, and project impacts. * Prepare revised schedules based on approved changes and variations. Client & Consultant Coordination * Attend progress review meetings with clients, consultants, and management. * Present planning reports, recovery plans, and project status updates professionally. * Ensure compliance with contractual milestones and project deliverables. Desired Candidate Profile Technical Requirements * Strong experience in luxury high-rise residential towers, five-star hotels, and commercial building projects. * Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and project controls. * Strong understanding of structural, architectural, MEP, façade, and interior finishing activities. * Expertise in Primavera P6 is mandatory. * Good knowledge of resource planning, cost loading, and project tracking systems. * Experience in fast-track and high-value projects within GCC/UAE preferred. * Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Software Skills * Primavera P6 (Mandatory) * MS Project * Advanced MS Excel * Power BI (Preferred) * AutoCAD (Basic Understanding) Qualification * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. * PMP certification will be an added advantage. Preferred Candidate Profile * Minimum 10+ years of experience in building construction planning. * Proven experience in luxury high-rise residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. * GCC/UAE experience preferred. * Strong communication and coordination skills. * Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in fast-track environments.
