Job Description Roles & Responsibilities CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO) Job Title Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Department Finance Reports To Managing Director (MD) Purpose of the Role To provide financial leadership and strategic support to the business by ensuring strong financial planning, control, reporting, governance, and compliance. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, support decision-making, drive business growth, and safeguard the organization's financial health. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Planning & Performance Management Key Duties Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Monitor business performance against budgets, targets, and defined financial objectives. Develop financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making. Evaluate business cases, investments, and pricing decisions to drive profitability and value creation across the business. 2. Finance Operations & Systems Key Duties Oversee day-to-day finance operations and ensure efficient financial processes and systems. Safeguard company assets through robust internal controls and financial governance frameworks. Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and reliable. 3. Financial Reporting & Compliance Key Duties Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Maintain compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and regulatory obligations. Oversee high-level coordination of internal and external audits. Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and governance standards. 4. Tax & Regulatory Management Key Duties Design and implement tax-efficient management systems to support business objectives. Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulatory requirements. Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors when required. Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business. 5. Treasury & Cash Flow Management Key Duties Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements. Oversee banking relationships and funding requirements. Develop and implement financial structures and financing strategies. Monitor financial risks and ensure effective treasury management. 6. Leadership & Team Performance Key Duties Lead and develop a high-performing finance team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning. Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide strategic financial guidance to business leaders and management teams. Participate as a key member of the executive leadership team. Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives through financial insight and analysis. Professional qualification such as: ACCA CIMA CPA CA(SA) or equivalent MBA or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is advantageous. Experience Minimum 10–15 years of finance experience. At least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role. Proven experience in FMCG or related industries. Strong track record in financial management, controls, and business partnering. Experience supporting multi-entity or group structures is advantageous. Knowledge, Skills & Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership and people management capabilities. Strategic mindset with strong commercial awareness. High level of integrity and ethical conduct. Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to influence decision-making at executive level.
