Geotechnical and Earthworks Manager

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Geotechnical and Earthworks Manager to lead and oversee all geotechnical, soil testing, slope stability and earthworks activities for major rail and tunnelling projects across the UAE. The ideal candidate will possess 10–15 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, earthworks execution and quality control, ensuring safe, cost-effective and compliant delivery of complex infrastructure works. Responsibilities: Lead the planning, design and execution of geotechnical and earthworks works for rail and tunnelling projects Manage and coordinate site investigations, soil sampling and laboratory testing programs Perform slope stability analyses and develop mitigation and ground improvement strategies Oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to technical specifications, health, safety and environmental standards Prepare and review technical reports, method statements, risk assessments and compliance documentation Monitor project budgets, schedules and resource allocation to achieve on-time, on-budget delivery Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including design, construction, QA/QC and HSE to drive quality and performance Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities and stakeholders to secure approvals and resolve technical issues Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for earthworks and geotechnical operations Mentor and develop junior geotechnical engineers and site staff Continuously review and update geotechnical standards and best practices in line with UAE regulations Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering 10–15 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, earthworks and soil testing Proven track record in rail infrastructure and tunnelling projects Strong expertise in slope stability analysis, ground improvement and earthworks execution In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, laboratory testing and field investigation techniques Professional engineering registration in the UAE (e.g. P.Eng.) or equivalent Familiarity with UAE and international codes, standards and specifications Demonstrated leadership, project management and team-building skills Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio (Slide), Slope/W and similar tools Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder liaison abilities Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification Experience with major international consulting or contracting firms Previous work experience in the UAE or GCC region Knowledge of advanced ground improvement techniques (e.g. jet grouting, soil mixing) Familiarity with BIM for geotechnical modeling and construction integration Understanding of digital and automated monitoring technologies for earthworks Fluency in Arabic or experience working in multilingual teams Company Industry Other Department / Functional Area Other Keywords Geotechnical And Earthworks Manager Get real-time job updates only on our App
