Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of workplaces to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions. Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on inspection findings, including detailed risk assessments and follow-up action plans to enhance safety protocols. Collaborate closely with management and employees to foster a culture of safety, providing guidance and training on best practices and regulatory requirements. Investigate incidents and accidents to determine causes, ensuring that lessons learned are documented and communicated effectively to prevent future occurrences. Stay updated on the latest HSE regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with local, national, and international laws. Lead safety audits and assessments, preparing for external audits by demonstrating compliance with operational standards and legal requirements. Facilitate safety training sessions and workshops, empowering employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and mitigate risks. Act as a liaison between regulatory agencies and the organization, ensuring clear communication and adherence to all legal and safety regulations. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, using data-driven insights to make recommendations for continuous improvement. Participate in emergency response planning and drills, ensuring that employees understand their roles and responsibilities in case of an incident. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is essential for a strong foundation. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly preferred to validate expertise in health and safety regulations. A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in HSE roles, preferably within the construction industry to ensure familiarity with sector-specific standards. Experience in conducting safety audits and inspections, showcasing the ability to identify and address compliance issues effectively. Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages is a distinct advantage for effective communication in diverse environments. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, enabling the identification of potential hazards and the development of effective mitigation strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for engaging with stakeholders at all levels and fostering a positive safety culture. Proficiency in using HSE management software and data analysis tools to enhance reporting and compliance tracking. Demonstrated leadership qualities, capable of driving safety initiatives and influencing employee behavior towards safety best practices. Physical fitness and the ability to navigate various work environments, including construction sites or industrial facilities, are necessary for effective inspections.
