Project Engineer - Joinery
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities 1. Project Execution & Supervision Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to schedules and milestones. 2. Coordination & Communication Coordinate daily site operations between subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams. Provide regular updates to the Project Manager/Construction Manager on work progress, challenges, and required actions. 3. Quality Assurance & Control Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure alignment with project and contractual requirements. Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to ensure timely corrective actions. 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain detailed site records including daily reports, material deliveries, and manpower logs. Prepare or assist with method statements, inspection requests (IRs), and related documentation. 5. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Ensure all site works comply with company HSE policies and statutory regulations. Promote a strong culture of safety awareness among teams and subcontractors. 6. Technical Support Provide technical guidance and resolve site issues in coordination with design and engineering teams. Review shop drawings to identify and communicate any discrepancies prior to execution. 7. Resource Management Supervise and manage manpower, materials, and equipment allocation to ensure optimal productivity. Identify and report potential delays, resource shortages, or design inconsistencies proactively. Technical & Professional Skills: Strong knowledge of joinery drawings, detailing, and shop drawing review. Familiar with production processes (cutting, assembly, veneering, polishing, and installation). Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office applications. Good understanding of site coordination, installation sequencing, and quality standards in joinery. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Desired Candidate Profile Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Wood Technology, or Interior Design. Experience Required: Minimum 8 years of experience in interior fit-out and joinery site execution.
