Acoustical Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Review and evaluate acoustical design calculations, simulations, technical studies, and engineering reports. Review shop drawings, material submittals, AV system designs, and contractor submissions for compliance with project requirements. Supervise and inspect acoustical construction works, including sound insulation, acoustic treatments, auditorium systems, AV installations, and specialized acoustic materials. Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. Conduct site inspections and provide technical recommendations for acoustical and AV-related issues. Review contractor progress, quality of work, testing, commissioning activities, and acceptance procedures. Quantify completed works and evaluate contractor claims, variations, and change orders related to acoustical systems. Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, AV specialists, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, punch lists, and project documentation as required. Support project management team during design review, construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and project close-out activities. Desired Candidate Profile Strong knowledge of architectural and building acoustics. Experience in acoustical design of classrooms, auditoriums, lecture halls, seminar halls, conference rooms, theaters, mosques, and public facilities. Proficient in acoustic calculations, modeling, simulations, and noise control analysis. Experience with acoustic simulation software such as EASE, ODEON, SoundPLAN, CadnaA, CATT-Acoustic, or equivalent. Knowledge of advanced Audio-Visual (AV) systems, sound reinforcement systems, public address systems, and integrated control systems. Familiarity with international codes, standards, specifications, and industry best practices related to acoustics and AV systems. Ability to review engineering studies, shop drawings, material submittals, technical specifications, and contractor proposals. Knowledge of construction quality control, inspection procedures, testing, commissioning, and safety requirements. Experience with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, SEC, government, educational, or institutional projects will be an advantage. Excellent communication, coordination, technical reporting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
