Irrigation Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Oversee operation maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution and crop health. Design irrigation systems, including sprinkler, drip, and subsurface irrigation networks. Prepare irrigation layouts, hydraulic calculations, and technical drawings. Review project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements. Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of irrigation systems. Conduct site surveys and assess water supply requirements. Ensure irrigation systems are installed according to approved designs and industry standards. Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to optimize water usage. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to pumps, pipelines, valves, controllers, and irrigation equipment. Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams. Prepare technical reports, method statements, material submittals, and as-built drawings. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource utilization. Support project handover and maintenance activities. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in operation maintenance Experience in landscape, agricultural, infrastructure, or large-scale irrigation projects. Knowledge of irrigation design software and hydraulic calculations. Professional certifications in irrigation design or water management, such as Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) or similar, are highly valued. Experience in agricultural environments or water resource management sectors to ensure practical understanding of irrigation needs.
