Marine Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Manage the operation of main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, boilers, and all shipboard mechanical systems. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS). Ensure full compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, and STCW regulations. Manage fuel consumption, bunker operations, and bilge water management. Serve as a key member of the emergency response team; conduct regular drills and ensure fire-fighting and life-saving equipment are operational. Maintain accurate engine room logs, inventory records, and technical reports for fleet management. Supervise engine room staff, including fitters, oilers, and junior engineers, ensuring a culture of safety and excellence Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a relevant field Proficient in troubleshooting complex marine diesel engines, automation, and electrical control systems. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills in English, and the ability to lead a diverse team in high-pressure environments.
