QC Welding Inspector - CBT

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Summary The CBT Welding Inspector (TPI) will act as an independent third-party representative to ensure that all welding and fabrication activities for offshore structures are executed in full compliance with client specifications, international standards, and project quality requirements. The role involves unbiased inspection, verification, and reporting to the client. Key Responsibilities: NDT Coordination Witness and validate NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT. Review NDT reports and ensure acceptance criteria compliance. Documentation & Reporting Review and endorse QA/QC documentation including: Welding procedures (WPS/PQR) Inspection reports Material traceability records Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports and submit to client/TPI agency. Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions. Compliance & Standards Ensure adherence to: AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO standards, Client specifications and project requirements Verify material identification and traceability. Stakeholder Coordination Interface with contractor QA/QC, client representatives, and project team. Provide technical clarification and inspection feedback. Required Qualifications & Certifications Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory). CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements). Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards. Experience Requirements Mandatory experience in Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignments Strong background in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, modules) fabricated in onshore yards. Desired Candidate Profile High integrity and impartiality (critical for TPI role). Strong reporting and documentation skills. Effective communication with multi-disciplinary teams. Willing to work in onshore yard environments. Ability to work under strict timelines and quality requirements.
