Procurement Specialist – Bulk Chemical Sourcing

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist with extensive expertise in bulk chemical sourcing, specialty chemical procurement, and international purchasing. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in procuring chemicals for manufacturing, chemical terminal operations, and trading businesses. The candidate should possess strong commercial negotiation skills, global supplier management experience, and in-depth knowledge of international trade, logistics, and Incoterms. Experience in sourcing paints & coatings raw materials, resins, solvents, additives, and specialty chemicals is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end procurement of bulk and specialty chemicals. Source chemicals from global suppliers across China, Germany, Europe, USA, India, South Korea, and the Middle East. Handle procurement for chemical terminal operations, including bulk storage and inventory replenishment. Source paints & coatings raw materials, resins, solvents, additives, pigments, monomers, and specialty chemicals. Identify and develop new global suppliers. Negotiate prices, payment terms, contracts, and annual supply agreements. Coordinate with logistics teams for import shipments and delivery schedules. Work closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and inspection agencies. Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and procurement KPIs. Ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory levels. Maintain supplier relationships and conduct supplier evaluations. Prepare RFQs, comparative statements, purchase orders, and procurement reports. Support Sales, Manufacturing, Operations, and Technical teams in material planning. Monitor global chemical market trends, raw material pricing, and freight movements. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and international trade regulations. Generate procurement MIS reports and dashboards for management. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. MBA or professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or APICS will be an added advantage. Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in the chemical industry. Proven experience in bulk chemical purchasing. Strong experience in sourcing paints & coatings raw materials and specialty chemicals. Experience in global procurement from China, Europe, Germany, USA, India, and other international markets. Experience in chemical manufacturing, chemical trading, or terminal operations. Strong knowledge of Incoterms® 2020 and international trade practices.
