Assistant Category Manager
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for category growth and make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance. Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies, including product assortment, pricing, and promotional plans, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, merchandising, and supply chain, to execute category initiatives and drive successful product launches. Manage and maintain product catalogs, ensuring accuracy of product information, images, and specifications across all relevant platforms. Monitor inventory levels and forecast product demand to minimize stockouts and optimize inventory turns, improving overall category profitability. Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and promotional support, maximizing category margin and profitability. Conduct regular store visits and market research to understand consumer preferences and identify new product opportunities, staying ahead of market changes. Prepare and present category performance reports, highlighting key metrics, trends, and recommendations to senior management, providing actionable insights. Assist in the planning and execution of promotional activities and marketing campaigns, ensuring effective product placement and driving sales. Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring that they comply with all company policies and procedures, including product quality and delivery timelines.
