Process Manager - Aramco Oil & Gas Pipeline Projects
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities seeking a highly analytical and technical Process Manager to oversee the process engineering, fluid dynamics optimization, and technical design integrity of our Saudi Aramco pipeline projects. This role requires a strategic technical leader responsible for the process design, flow assurance, and hydraulic validation of cross-country pipeline infrastructure, including valve stations, scraping facilities, and gas/oil separation plant (GOSP) tie-ins. The successful candidate ensures all process flow schemes, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and pre-commissioning/commissioning procedures are executed flawlessly within budget, on schedule, and in strict accordance with Saudi Aramco’s rigorous standards. Role & Responsibilities: Process Engineering Leadership: Lead the process engineering scope throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration between engineering designs, hydraulic simulations, and field execution requirements. Flow Assurance & Hydraulics: Direct and validate steady-state and transient hydraulic modeling to optimize pipeline throughput, pressure drop gradients, surge analysis, and fluid behavior across varying terrains. Design & P&ID Governance: Oversee and approve critical process deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Design Bases, and Control Philosophies. Aramco Technical Alignment: Ensure absolute compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) and Saudi Aramco Materials System Specifications (SAMSS) across all process design packages and equipment selections. Safety in Design (HAZOP/SIL): Act as the technical process lead during formal Safety in Design reviews, including Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, Hazard Identification (HAZID) reviews, and SIL classifications with Saudi Aramco stakeholders. Commissioning & Start-up Oversight: Develop, review, and govern process-specific pre-commissioning, de-watering, chemical cleaning, drying, and commissioning/start-up procedures for the pipeline network. Reporting & Documentation: Deliver comprehensive technical process evaluation reports, weekly engineering progress updates, and robust calculations packages to senior management and the client. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering from an accredited institution. Aramco Background: Extensive experience navigating Saudi Aramco project management systems, engineering procedures, and standard review cycles. Prior Saudi Aramco approval as a Process Engineer/Manager is highly preferred. Experience: Minimum 12–15+ years in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically focused on upstream or midstream cross-country pipeline infrastructure, process facilities, or pumping/compressor stations, with at least 5 years in a senior design or engineering management role. Technical Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in industry-standard process simulation and flow assurance tools (e.g., HYSYS, PIPESIM, OLGA, PipeNet). Standards Expertise: Deep, specialized knowledge of SAES (Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards), API (American Petroleum Institute), and ASME codes relevant to pipeline process design. Desired Candidate Profile Skills and Characteristics: Technical Leadership: Exceptional ability to guide and mentor a team of multi-disciplinary design engineers, specialized technical consultants, and drafting teams. Systems Expertise: Thoroughly conversant with Saudi ARAMCO Process Engineering Standards, Equipment Design Standards, and Safety General Instructions (GIs). Multidisciplinary Knowledge: Well-versed in the interface between process parameters and physical pipeline execution, including pressure ratings, cathodic protection interaction, valve automation, and custody metering skid operations. Communication: Exceptional analytical and communication skills to clearly articulate complex process simulations and risk assessments to both field operations and executive leadership. Technical Proficiency: High command of Microsoft Office suite, process simulation tools, and collaborative digital engineering data environments.
