Compliance Specialist
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities About the Role: We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our UAE team and ensure that our operations adhere to local and international regulatory requirements. In this role, you will draft and maintain compliance policies, conduct risk assessments, implement controls and governance frameworks, and engage with stakeholders to drive a culture of regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. Responsibilities: Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and controls in line with UAE regulations and international standards Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits to identify potential control gaps and recommend remediation measures Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely communication and incorporation of new requirements into company practices Draft, review and update compliance documentation, including manuals, guidelines and training materials Collaborate with internal stakeholders—business units, legal, finance and IT—to ensure consistent application of governance frameworks Coordinate with external regulators and auditors during inspections and inquiries, providing required documentation and status updates Deliver compliance training sessions and awareness programs for employees at all levels Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors Required Qualifications: 4–7 years of experience in compliance, risk management or a related function within the UAE or GCC region In-depth regulatory knowledge of UAE and international financial services laws and regulations Demonstrated experience in policy drafting and documentation of compliance frameworks Proven ability to design and implement controls and governance processes Strong risk assessment and mitigation skills Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, with experience liaising across functions and with regulators Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or a related field High level of integrity and professional ethics Preferred Qualifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent Experience in the banking, financial services or insurance sectors Familiarity with ISO 19600/37301 compliance management standards Knowledge of Shariah compliance principles Fluency in Arabic and English Advanced degree (Master’s) in Law, Compliance or Risk Management Company Industry Other Department / Functional Area Other Keywords Compliance Specialist Get real-time job updates only on our App
