Senior Accountant
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP to ensure transparency and provide insights for strategic decision-making. Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time to maintain operational efficiency. Conduct detailed variance analysis, identifying trends and discrepancies, and presenting actionable recommendations to management for improved financial performance. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including timely invoicing and follow-up for collections, to optimize cash flow and minimize outstanding debts. Oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations to mitigate financial risks. Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and insights to facilitate a smooth review. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial accuracy and integrity. Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance data analysis capabilities. Train and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices in financial reporting. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree or MBA is highly desirable for advanced financial acumen. Experience with financial analysis and reporting, showcasing the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights. Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in financial reports and statements. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills. Proactive problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying issues and implementing effective solutions to enhance financial processes.
