Procurement Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals and cost-saving targets, ensuring that all materials are sourced efficiently. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and negotiate contracts that provide the best value for the company. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand technical specifications and requirements, ensuring that purchased materials meet project standards. Manage supplier relationships effectively, monitoring performance and resolving issues to maintain continuity of supply and quality. Sourced, evaluated, and pre-qualified vendors in accordance with company procurement policies and approved supplier lists. Prepared RFQs/RFPs, conducted commercial and technical evaluations, and issued comparison reports with cost and value analysis. Negotiated pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance standards. Prepared and issued purchase orders, contracts, and service agreements in coordination with legal, finance, and technical teams. Monitored supplier performance, delivery schedules, and contract compliance; resolved commercial and operational issues. Coordinated with project, asset management, facilities, and operations teams to ensure timely procurement support. Managed variations, change orders, and contract amendments, ensuring proper approvals and documentation. Verified invoices against contracts, POs, and delivery records; supported timely payments and reconciliations. Maintained procurement records, contracts, approvals, and reports in line with internal controls and audit requirements. Supported annual budgeting, cost control, and procurement planning for corporate and project requirements. Ensured compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architect, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is essential for understanding technical requirements. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement within the engineering or construction sectors, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry-specific needs. Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are highly preferred. Experience with procurement software and tools, including ERP systems, to streamline purchasing processes and improve efficiency.
