Cost Accountant
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our finance team in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Cost Accountant will oversee costing processes, budgeting, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and cost control, while generating accurate MIS reports through SAP/ERP systems. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze cost of goods sold, standard costing models, and cost variances Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates Conduct variance analysis and present insights to management for decision support Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and periodic physical audits Implement and monitor cost control measures to optimize expenditures Generate, review, and distribute timely MIS reports on cost center performance Coordinate with IT and finance teams to maintain and enhance SAP/ERP cost modules Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in costing processes Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in cost accounting or financial analysis Strong knowledge of costing methods, budgeting, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and cost control Proficiency in MIS reporting and financial data analysis Practical experience working with SAP (especially SAP CO) and ERP systems Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) intermediate or CMA certification Experience in a manufacturing or production environment Familiarity with SAP PP/CO integration and configuration Knowledge of GST and its impact on costing processes Exposure to other ERP platforms like Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics Certifications in advanced Excel or data analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau Company Industry Other Department / Functional Area Other Keywords Cost Accountant Get real-time job updates only on our App
