Accountant

To manage financial transactions, reporting, and compliance for energy projects and operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with industry and regulatory standards. Reporting Structure Accounting Manager Your Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities) Record and review financial transactions in compliance with IFRS/local accounting standards. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules for reporting. Track and report on the financial performance of ongoing projects, including budgeting and cost management. Assist in the preparation of management and statutory financial reports. Ensure proper application of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. Support variance analysis of actual vs. budget for revenues, costs, and cash flows. Provide financial data and insights to assist in forecasting and budgeting exercises. Monitor bank transactions and prepare accurate bank reconciliations. Assist in weekly and monthly cashflow reporting. Ensure correct accounting of VAT, Zakat, and other applicable tax requirements. Prepare documentation to support compliance with regulatory filings. Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits. Support the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls. Post and maintain transactions in ERP systems. Contribute to improvements in financial reporting systems and tools. Support the finance team with financial analysis and report generation on an as-needed basis

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Skill Sets Bachelor s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. 2 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in utilities, energy, or infrastructure sectors. Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and local accounting standards. Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred). Strong MS Excel and Microsoft Office skills Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
