Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable fullstack applications, working across backend services, APIs and modern frontend interfaces
• Build production-grade backend systems using Python/FastAPI and frontend applications using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Collaborate with AI Engineers to integrate LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases and agentic workflows into AI-powered products
• Develop and integrate AI services, including model APIs, retrieval systems and agent orchestration, to deliver intelligent user experiences
• Take ownership of features across the full software development lifecycle, from system design and development through to testing, deployment and production support
• Contribute to the deployment of AI applications within cloud environments, working closely with DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure scalability, reliability and observability
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and system design, writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Explore and utilise AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code and Codex, to improve engineering productivity and delivery
• Desired Candidate Profile 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience, with strong hands-on expertise across both frontend and backend development
• Strong backend development experience, ideally using Python and FastAPI, alongside frontend experience with TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React or Next.js
• Proven experience designing, building and deploying production-grade software applications, ideally within a product-led or startup environment
• Practical experience building or integrating AI-powered applications, with an understanding of LLMs, RAG, vector databases, AI agents and agentic workflows
• Experience working with cloud technologies and deploying applications into production, ideally AWS, although other major cloud platforms will be considered
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including API design, distributed systems, scalability, testing and system design
• Exposure to CI/CD, containerisation, observability and modern cloud-native development practices would be advantageous
• A strong problem-solving mindset, willingness to learn new technologies and the ability to take ownership within a fast-moving, collaborative engineering team
