Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Assist the Manager – Store in managing day-to-day store and warehouse operations at project sites. Coordinate the receipt, inspection, identification, storage, preservation, and issuance of project materials. Ensure timely availability of materials to construction, electrical, civil, MEP, and other project teams. Verify delivered materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, material requisitions, specifications, and approved documentation. Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and approval of incoming materials before acceptance and use. Ensure proper tagging, coding, segregation, stacking, and storage of materials based on their type and requirements. Maintain appropriate storage and preservation conditions for electrical, mechanical, civil, MEP, and other technical materials. Issue materials against approved Material Requisitions/Material Issue Notes and maintain complete supporting documentation. Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, returns, transfers, damages, shortages, and excess materials. Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment of critical materials to prevent shortages and project delays. Track critical and long-lead materials and provide regular status updates to the Store Manager and Project Management team. Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory with ERP/system records. Investigate stock discrepancies and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Monitor slow-moving, surplus, obsolete, damaged, and excess materials and coordinate appropriate action. Coordinate material transfers between project sites, warehouses, and other company locations. Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Planning, Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, Finance, and Project teams regarding material requirements and availability. Support logistics activities related to loading, unloading, transportation, and movement of project materials. Ensure proper handling and storage of high-value and sensitive equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, panels, electrical accessories, and other power-project equipment. Maintain proper documentation for material receipt, inspection, storage, issue, return, and transfer. Update ERP/inventory management systems accurately and on a timely basis. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly material movement and inventory reports. Monitor material consumption against project requirements and identify unusual usage, wastage, or losses. Assist in maintaining proper housekeeping, stacking, access control, fire protection, and safety standards within store and warehouse areas. Ensure compliance with company procedures, project requirements, quality standards, and HSE policies. Supervise storekeepers, material controllers, and warehouse personnel and allocate daily activities. Monitor staff performance, productivity, attendance, and adherence to store procedures. Provide guidance and training to store personnel on inventory control, documentation, material handling, and safety practices. Assist in internal and external audits and ensure all required material records are readily available. Support the commercial and project teams with material reconciliation, surplus material tracking, and cost-related information. Assist with project close-out activities, including reconciliation and handover of surplus, unused, returnable, and damaged materials. Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, storage efficiency, material availability, and operational cost control. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline. Typically 6–10 years of relevant experience in stores, warehouse, inventory, or materials management, preferably within power, EPC, construction, or infrastructure projects. Experience in managing project stores and warehouses in a construction or power-project environment. Good knowledge of electrical, civil, mechanical, MEP, and construction materials. Experience in material receipt, inspection, preservation, issuance, stock control, and inventory reconciliation. Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, inventory management, material coding, and stock control. Experience handling electrical equipment and power-project materials such as transformers, switchgear, cables, panels, and accessories will be an advantage. Working knowledge of ERP/inventory management systems; SAP or equivalent experience is preferred. Knowledge of Material Receipt Notes, Material Requisitions, Material Issue Notes, Stock Transfer Notes, Delivery Notes, and related documentation. Ability to coordinate effectively with Procurement, Logistics, Construction, Planning, QA/QC, Finance, and Project Management teams. Good understanding of HSE requirements related to warehouse operations, material handling, lifting, storage, and transportation. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Good proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Ability to supervise store personnel and manage multiple material-related activities simultaneously. UAE/GCC project experience is preferred. Preferred Experience Experience with power transmission, distribution, substations, EPC projects, or major infrastructure developments. Exposure to HV/EHV substation projects and associated electrical equipment. Experience managing project stores for large-scale construction or EPC projects. Knowledge of UAE logistics, material control, and client/authority requirements. Experience with material reconciliation, surplus material management, and project close-out. Experience working with major EPC contractors, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
