Associate Architect - Apigee Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Requirements 7+ years of dedicated, continuous hands-on experience in API Management, Enterprise Integration, and Middleware Engineering. Expert-level, hands-on mastery of GCP Apigee (Apigee X / Apigee Edge), including proxy execution, custom policy creation, and runtime administration. Deep knowledge of enterprise API lifecycle management, OpenAPI (Swagger) specs, rate limiting, traffic management, and caching strategies. Advanced expertise in API security architectures (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, Mutual TLS, Web Application Firewalls, SAML). Strong hands-on coding proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or Java for custom Apigee extensions and callouts. Proven experience managing enterprise Developer Portals, API gateways, and multi-tenant API governance frameworks. Strictly a dedicated API/Integration background (uninterrupted career trajectory in API management and integration). Responsibilities Architect, configure, and develop high-throughput API proxies, policies, and target server integrations on GCP Apigee. Implement robust, enterprise-grade security policies, OAuth flows, and encryption mechanisms across all exposed APIs. Design and maintain the developer portal experience, API productization, and access management strategy. Diagnose, debug, and resolve complex API latency, routing, and high-load production issues across multi-cloud backend services. Define standard API execution patterns, reusable policy templates, and design guidelines for enterprise application teams. Monitor API traffic metrics, performance analytics, and error budgets using Apigee Analytics and Cloud Logging.
