Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The patient aide will work to support the nursing staff to provide for the everyday needs of the resident’s and their families Responsibilities 3.1 Responsibilities may vary depending on number and functional focus of Senior Management Team. The following list is a very comprehensive itemization of what would normally be associated with the position of Patient Aide at Long term care. The actual scope of responsibilities will be determined from time to time by the Director of Operations in conjunction with the Charge Nurses and Managers. 3.2 Supports residents and their families by providing housekeeping and laundry services; preparing food, running errands. 3.3 Assists residents by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing and grooming. 3.4 Assists nurses in manual handling of residents and with bathing. 3.5 Under the supervision and guidance of nurses and therapists plays with children where appropriate. 3.6 Maintains a safe, secure and healthy patient environment by ensuring room is clean and tidy. 3.7 Supports the nursing staff by running errands where appropriate. 3.8 Responsible for ensuring rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies 3.9 Assists residents and nurses on external trips 3.10 Participates in resident’s social activities 3.11 Communicates with a range of people on a range of matters. 3.12 Communicates appropriately and clearly to coworkers and other members of the multidisciplinary team. 3.13 Communicates the mission, vision and values of the facility. 3.14 Develops own skills and knowledge. 3.15 Recognizes the necessity to continuously develop skills and acquire additional knowledge appropriate to the position. 3.16 Attends training sessions offered by long term care. 3.17 Dresses appropriately to the expectations of the specific work areas and Occupational Health and Safety Policy. 3.18 Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with long term care policy. 3.19 Participates as a valued team member, promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment. 3.20 Attends meetings as requested. 3.21 Maintains quality in own work. 3.22 Adheres to the requirements of the Environment Health and Safety Management System. 3.23 Adheres to the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines and Infection Control Guidelines. 3.24 Understands and adheres to emergency preparedness, fire safety and code policies/plans. 3.25 Reports shortfall of supplies to registered nurse. 3.26 Reports and documents any missing items to registered nurse. 3.27 Supports equality and value diversity. 3.28 Challenge bias, prejudice and intolerance if appropriate or brings it to the attention of a manager. 3.29 Aware of the impact of own behaviors on others. 3.30 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements 3.31 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities 3.32 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures 3.33 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports 3.34 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies 3.35 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs 3.36 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems Desired Candidate Profile 4.1 Diploma in relevant field 4.2 One year working Experience in a healthcare environment. 4.3 Nanny or homecare support role 4.4 Experience working as a Care Giver or similar role 4.5 Experience working with Arabic children 4.6 Average command of oral and written English, Arabic desirable but not mandatory Employment Type Full Time Company Industry MedicalHealthcareDiagnosticsMedical Devices Department / Functional Area DoctorNurseParamedicsHospital TechniciansMedical Research Keywords CaregiverCompanion CaregiverClient AdvocacyCare Support WorkerPersonal CareNursing AssistantTransportationHome Health AideCommunication SkillsHealth MonitoringLight HousekeepingElderly Care Specialist Get real-time job updates only on our App
