Data Engineer (GCP)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with 5-7 years of hands-on experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. In this fully remote role, you will leverage GCP services, Python, SQL, and BigQuery to drive data-driven insights and ensure the performance, reliability, and security of our data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP services Implement and optimize data models and schemas in BigQuery Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts for data transformation and analysis Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data quality and reliability Document data workflows, architectures, and best practices Implement data governance, security controls, and compliance standards Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team

Preferred Qualifications

Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification Experience with Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Deployment Manager) Knowledge of dbt or similar data transformation frameworks Experience with real-time data streaming technologies (Pub/Sub, Dataflow Streaming) Exposure to additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) Position Details Position Title: Data Engineer (GCP)

5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering Strong proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow Expert-level SQL skills and experience optimizing complex queries Advanced Python programming skills for data processing and automation Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT workflows Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing concepts, and best practices Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
