DevOps Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. Position Overview: We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Cairo, Egypt. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining high-availability production systems and large integrated environments while driving automation and innovation across our development and release processes. You'll work alongside talented engineers, coaching team members and technically leading large-scale projects that impact our global operations. Key Responsibilities: Maintain high-availability production systems and large integrated environments. Develop and maintain in-house utilities to automate and facilitate development and release activities. Technically drive large-scale projects while coaching and motivating team members involved. Manage continuous integration frameworks, enterprise monitoring, and alert notifications. Evaluate, integrate, and deploy state-of-the-art third-party tools for development, testing, and release teams. Investigate, isolate, and resolve hardware and software defects with excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Develop innovative solutions by investigating problems and applying analytical expertise. Desired Candidate Profile B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (minimum grade: Very Good). 3+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field. Excellent knowledge of DevOps concepts (CI, CD, CM, SCM). Hands-on experience with GitLab administration is a plus. Experience with grid management software (e.g., AGE, LSF, Slurm) is a plus. Linux administration and debugging skills are a plus. Knowledge of common high-availability architectures is a plus. Experience with a wide variety of open-source technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Docker). Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate, isolate, and resolve hardware and software defects. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to investigate problems and develop innovative solutions. A service-oriented attitude, with the ability to multitask, switch contexts quickly, and handle interruptions effectively.
