Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Title: AutoCAD Draftsman Department: Engineering / Design Reports To: Design Manager / Project Manager Job Summary The AutoCAD Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, and detailed plans using AutoCAD based on engineering designs, project specifications, and site requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed 2D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD. Develop technical drawings based on engineer/architect instructions. Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and detailed construction drawings. Modify drawings according to site conditions and project revisions. Coordinate drawings with engineering, MEP, architectural, and site teams. Ensure drawings comply with project standards and specifications. Maintain proper drawing files, revisions, and documentation. Assist engineers with quantity take-offs and technical documentation when required. Coordinate with consultants and contractors regarding drawing-related issues. Ensure accuracy and timely submission of drawings. Make necessary corrections based on consultant/client comments. Desired Candidate Profile Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. 2–5 years of relevant experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D. Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings. Knowledge of shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical detailing. Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage. Good understanding of construction/MEP drawings and drafting standards. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
