Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Produce detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software, ensuring precision and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with engineers and architects to interpret design concepts and translate them into workable drafting solutions. Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications. Prepare layout designs for construction projects, including dimensions, materials, and construction methods. Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project requirements, providing insights that enhance the design process. Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions, ensuring easy access for future reference and project continuity. Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including specifications and reports, to support project bids and proposals. Utilize 3D modeling software to create realistic representations of design concepts, enhancing visualization for clients and teams. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in drafting technology to continuously improve skills and methodologies. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all drafting work, prioritizing the integrity of the project. Desired Candidate Profile A diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge. At least 3 years of hands-on experience in drafting within the construction or manufacturing industries is preferred. Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, is a must for creating accurate and detailed drawings. Certification from recognized professional bodies, such as the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA), is highly valued. Fluency in English is required; additional languages may be beneficial for international projects and collaborations. Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies in drawings or specifications is crucial for quality assurance. Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with engineers, architects, and clients. A proactive attitude and problem-solving skills are essential for addressing challenges during the drafting process. Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality in all deliverables. Physical ability to perform site visits and navigate construction sites safely is important for gathering necessary data.
