Electrical Technician

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Troubleshoot electrical faults and identify the root cause of failures. Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, lighting, switches, sockets, isolators and distribution systems. Work on DBs, SMDBs, MCC panels, control panels, breakers, contactors, relays and related electrical components. Troubleshoot and maintain electrical motors, pumps and associated control systems. Carry out basic troubleshooting of VFDs, starters and motor control circuits. Perform cable laying, cable termination, glanding and electrical connections. Read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and single-line diagrams. Conduct electrical testing and inspections using appropriate testing instruments. Attend emergency electrical breakdown and maintenance call-outs when required. Support electrical installation and modification works for MEP projects. Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing and other technicians during MEP maintenance activities. Prepare service reports and communicate site findings to the supervisor/engineer. Maintain tools and equipment properly and report any damaged or missing tools. Follow company procedures, site safety requirements, PTW and LOTO practices where applicable. Maintain good housekeeping and ensure all work is completed safely and professionally. Desired Candidate Profile ITI / Diploma / Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade. 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, MEP contracting or facilities maintenance. Qatar/GCC experience will be an advantage. Strong practical knowledge of LV electrical systems and MEP electrical maintenance. Experience with DBs, MCCs, motors, pumps, lighting systems, breakers, contactors and control circuits. Basic knowledge of VFDs and motor control systems. Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team. Good communication and customer-handling skills. Must be willing to attend emergency and after-hours maintenance calls when required. Experience in MEP maintenance, building maintenance, commercial facilities, residential properties, HVAC electrical systems, pumps and general electrical contracting works preferred.
