General Accountant

About the Hotel Located in Fujairah, Royal M Hotel Fujairah by Gewan offers elegant and modern accommodation with views of the mountains. The hotel adjoins the iconic Fujairah Mall , home to luxury and premium outlets. It also features a fitness center, outdoor swimming pool and spa center. Role Overview As a General Accountant , you will support accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain the general ledger, complete account reconciliations and assist with month-end closing. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound hotel accounting knowledge and consistent compliance with internal controls and UAE financial requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, allocations and account adjustments. Reconcile bank accounts, cash, credit-card transactions, intercompany balances and general ledger accounts. Prepare balance-sheet schedules and support monthly and year-end financial closing. Verify revenue interfaces from the PMS and POS systems and investigate any discrepancies. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, payroll and cost-control activities when required. Maintain the fixed-asset register and calculate monthly depreciation. Assist in preparing financial reports, budget comparisons and variance analyses. Support VAT, corporate-tax documentation and internal and external audit requirements. Maintain complete and properly organised accounting records and supporting documents. Follow established finance policies, approval procedures and segregation-of-duties controls. Protect the confidentiality and accuracy of all hotel financial information.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field. 2 3 years accounting experience , preferably within a four- or five-star hotel in the UAE. Working knowledge of hotel accounting practices and USALI is preferred. Good understanding of UAE VAT and corporate-tax requirements. Strong experience in account reconciliation, journal entries and month-end closing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or hotel finance systems. High level of accuracy, organisation and ability to meet reporting deadlines. Good command of English , both spoken and written. Professional integrity and the ability to handle confidential information. Priority will be given to candidates available to join immediately.
