General Manager – Finance
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Lead and manage the Group's trade finance, treasury, and finance operations across trading and manufacturing businesses. Oversee end-to-end Letter of Credit (LC) operations, including Sight LC, Usance LC, Back-to-Back LC, Transferable LC, and Standby LC (SBLC). Manage LC issuance, amendments, document negotiation, discrepancy resolution, and settlement processes with banks and counterparties. Ensure compliance with UCP 600, SWIFT standards, and international trade finance regulations. Develop and execute commodity hedging strategies for copper and other metals to mitigate price volatility and protect margins. Monitor global commodity markets, pricing trends, and foreign exchange exposures to support business decision-making. Structure and manage trade finance solutions for import and export transactions. Oversee treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital management. Negotiate and manage banking facilities, trade finance limits, credit lines, and funding arrangements with UAE and GCC banks. Optimize receivables, payables, and inventory cycles to improve cash flow and operational efficiency. Supervise daily finance and accounting activities, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end closing, and MIS reporting. Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and performance analysis. Implement and maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and risk management frameworks. Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, statutory requirements, and GCC regulatory guidelines. Support internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness across all finance functions. Partner with trading, procurement, operations, and senior management teams to drive profitability and financial discipline. Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, auditors, suppliers, and key stakeholders. Lead, mentor, and develop finance and treasury teams to achieve organizational objectives. Desired Candidate Profile Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional finance qualification preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline. Minimum 18+ years of overall finance experience, with at least 15+ years of GCC experience (mandatory). Proven expertise in Trade Finance, Treasury Management, and Banking Operations. Strong hands-on experience in handling Letters of Credit (LCs), including Sight LC, Usance LC, Back-to-Back LC, Transferable LC, and Standby LC (SBLC). Extensive experience in Commodity Trading Finance, particularly in Copper and Metals Trading. Demonstrated expertise in Commodity Hedging, Price Risk Management, and Foreign Exchange (FX) Risk Management. Strong understanding of UCP 600, SWIFT regulations, international trade finance practices, and structured trade finance solutions. Experience in managing cash flow, liquidity planning, working capital optimization, and treasury functions. Well-established relationships with UAE and GCC banks and financial institutions. Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, MIS reporting, and internal controls. Experience working in Metal Trading, Commodity Trading, Manufacturing, Industrial, Import/Export, or Supply Chain businesses preferred. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align financial strategies with business objectives. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive operational and financial excellence. Currently based in the GCC or willing to relocate to the UAE.
