Head of Planning
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Lead project planning, scheduling, reporting, and schedule risk management. Manage and coordinate planning inputs across all project functions. Ensure contractor compliance with planning and scheduling requirements. Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and control procedures. Prepare planning and scheduling deliverables for project control gates. Monitor progress, analyze delays, and assess schedule impacts. Review and support schedule recovery plans and resource requirements. Incorporate approved project changes into schedules and reports. Evaluate contractor planning performance and drive corrective actions. Serve as the focal point between project management and EPC contractors on planning and scheduling matters. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 10+ years of Project Controls experience in EPC oil & gas projects, specializing in Planning and Scheduling. Strong knowledge of Project Controls principles, methodologies, and best practices. Experience managing major EPC lump-sum projects from Owner and/or Contractor perspectives. Proven ability to work with multicultural teams and large subcontractors. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in project planning and scheduling. Proficient in Primavera P6 and schedule risk analysis tools (Acumen, Primavera Risk Analysis, etc.). Develop and maintain L1–L4 project schedules with sound logic, sequencing, assumptions, and resource loading. Perform schedule analysis using latest project data and reporting tools. Handle complex planning tasks and provide guidance on scheduling issues. Proactively deliver schedule insights and analysis based on project needs. Understand project-wide impacts and interface effectively across teams and stakeholders. Work independently within defined procedures, budgets, and planning frameworks. Organize and coordinate work efficiently to meet schedule objectives. Strong English communication skills (written and verbal). Strong negotiation, influencing, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective communicator with good interpersonal and teamwork abilities. Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related databases.
