HSE Officer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend practical control measures. Develop and implement effective HSE training programs tailored to the specific needs of employees and contractors. Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring adherence to local and international standards. Investigate incidents and near-misses thoroughly, compiling reports and recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Lead safety audits and inspections, providing actionable insights to management for continuous improvement. Collaborate with project teams to integrate HSE practices into daily operations and project planning. Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation, ensuring transparency and accountability within the organization. Engage employees in safety initiatives through communication campaigns that promote a culture of safety. Stay updated on industry trends and legislative changes to ensure proactive compliance and risk management. Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE-related inquiries, fostering a positive relationship with regulatory bodies and stakeholders. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is essential. NEBOSH or IOSH certification is highly preferred to demonstrate industry-recognized competence. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in HSE roles within construction, manufacturing, or oil and gas sectors. Experience in conducting HSE audits and familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards is advantageous. Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of additional languages being a significant asset. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey safety information. Proficient in using HSE management software and tools for data analysis and reporting. Demonstrated leadership abilities to motivate teams towards achieving safety goals. A proactive attitude with a strong commitment to fostering a safe working environment for all employees.
