Junior Finance Officer (to be assigned in Papua New Guinea)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions for PNG operations. Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and reconciliations, highlighting variances and providing initial analysis. Help manage petty cash and petty cash reimbursements, adhering to company policies and local regulations. Contribute to the month-end closing process by performing assigned tasks and ensuring data integrity. Assist in the preparation of payroll data and related statutory remittances in compliance with PNG employment laws. Maintain organized and accurate financial records and filing systems, both physical and digital. Support audit preparations by gathering requested documentation and responding to inquiries. Process expense claims and ensure compliance with the company's travel and expense policy. Provide basic support for budgeting and forecasting activities, as directed by senior finance staff. Assist in ensuring adherence to internal financial controls and procedures relevant to PNG operations. Desired Candidate Profile Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field from a recognized institution. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modeling, with a keen eye for detail. Experience with accounting software packages (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks, SAP) is a significant plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
